you're the queen of the superficial Idiot, idiot, idiot. The girl scolded herself as she ran under the pouring rain. Honestly, what had driven her to go out in such a day and not bring an umbrella with her? Not even the hooded jacket she was wearing was helping shielding her from the rain, as it didn’t seem to be able to stay on her head too long. In the end, she had just resigned and let it be.
“Frigging rain and frigging wind and frigging jacket” the words spat in a vicious yet quiet tone came out in English, as usual when she was mad at something. She just couldn’t help it. Pushing the doors to the small café open, Serenity couldn’t help but sigh at the looks the sparse people inside were giving her. Truth be told, she would give herself the same look if she saw her figure right now. Well, after all, she looked just like she had fallen into a pond, in fact, she could have sworn that she was dripping water.
But then again, even if she should have brought an umbrella with her, she honestly didn’t expect for it to be this bad… sure she expected some rain, not this much. Bah, stupid rain, catching her off guard. And she liked the rain… imagine how would she be if she hated it.
The female slouched on her chair (well, you could almost consider she was lying on the chair) as she waited for the waiter. Her gaze wandered to the world outside and she let out yet another sigh as she thought she would have to go back home eventually. Fortunately, she didn’t have much time to think about that matter, as a smiling waiter came to take her order. Yawning some, the nineteen year old asked for some random English tea.
As she waited for the tea to arrive, she checked her reflection on the window only to come to the realization that long hair and rain did not mix. The waist-length chestnut brown hair she prized so much now stuck to her face and her back in a not so nice-looking manner. Exhaling, Serenity pulled out one of the several hair rubber bands that rested on her wrist and used it to tie her hair just as her tea arrived. Finally, something warm.

Takayuki walked through the beautiful gardens, it was so peaceful. It was early morning and so it was silent. Even the birds were not awake and not even a cicadas could be heard. He observed each adn every of the flowers, he took interest in the flowers. They were not like humans or animals. They did not feed on thier young if starved, neither did they lie or decieve others. They were truly admirable. Maybe because they lacked the ability to treat others cruelly did they recieve such beauty from God.
The hours passed as he observed them, by looking at the flowers, they were recieving company. He knew that today he did not need to bother watering them. Yesterday was a very humid and hot day, they were starving from their meal unable to drink to fill their thirst. However, the present was different, they were going to get what they waited for.
The skies were grey and the air was thick. He knew it would cool down, that's how it always was. Muggy hot for a day, the air would just get thicker and thicker while the clouds turned darker and darker and the suddenly... it would rain. It wouldn;t just rain, it would rain hard. As if to punish humans. Humans enjoyed warm and sunny days not even stopping to appreciate the little things in life. The rain would benefit the plants and nature more so than humans. Flowers appreciate rain, most humans do not.
As he stood there caressing the single white rugosa rose, it began to rain. He did not eat that morining... neither did he eat lunch. For that matter he did not eat the day before. If such beautiful beings could not drink, then why should he feed himself? He was glad that it had rained, he began to laugh outloud to himself.
He only wore ripped jeans, converse and a grey long sleeved shirt... As if that would suffice his soon-to-be suffering body from the cold that was to come. He smiled to himself, if the flowers would suffer, so would he. During winter, most flowers die, so did he a little bit inside... it hurt not being able to caress mother earth's gift. Sighing, he walked towards the closest cafe with hands in his pockets.
Takayuki sat down at the nearest table when he walked in... He wanted to be right at the window where he could observe the rain hitting itself against the flowers. Rain would not break the flowers, they still stood strong. That was like him, no matter what happened he would stand tall. He would never give up until he got want he wanted even if it eould result in his death.
Takayuki took out his cellphone and began to play with it as the waitress took his order. Milk. He didn't care about the cows. Takayuki took a sip of his milk when the woman came back with it. "Thank you so very much." As he sipped he couldn;t help but notice a young girl sitting alone, she was all wet from the rain. He felt his stomach twist and turn. His head began to spin, he felt a sudden urge to drink something other than milk. He wanted blood. He stood up slowly and began to pace slowly towards the girl.
He sat down at her table. "Do you know what happens after death?" he asked.

you're the queen of the superficial As the tea she had ordered was brought to her, Serenity smiled in contempt at the steaming hot liquid. She was feeling better now, even though the clothes that stuck to her skin were still leaving her freezing. But now that she was shielded from the rain and with a warm drink in front of she felt great. Sere was one of those people who just love the rain, however, she didn’t take any particular pleasure in standing in the middle of the pouring rain, just for the heck of it… she had gotten sick far too many times thanks to that and so, she had learnt her lesson.
Gazing out the window, the girl couldn’t help but smile as she heard the rhythmic taps on the windows and the roof of the small café. It was almost like a lullaby… right, right, she had to stop herself from dozing off or else she would fall asleep right here. Stiffening a yawn, the girl raised the cup up to her lips but stopped before her action was complete as she noticed a boy walking towards her. Well, certainly he was not walking towards her, just in that general direction. First, she had never seen him before in her life, and second, what business could he possibly have with her?
However, her thoughts were proven wrong as soon as he sat across from her on the table. Violet eyes narrowed at the action, what was the meaning of all this? You see, Serenity usually had a hard time understanding the usual human behavior, she couldn’t quite grasp what people meant what they did something. But of one thing she was certain; it wasn’t likely for someone to seat at someone else’s table just because.
Now completely confused, the girl took a sip of her tea as she waited for him to do something, and soon came to regret that decision. His question made her choke on her tea, and the cup was harshly placed down as she struggled against a coughing fit that brought tears to her eyes. What the hell kind of question was that? Was the only thing that ran through her mind, as she managed to compose herself.
Massaging her now sore throat, the female pondered the question… death, although it wasn’t a particularly painful topic for her to discuss, it was something she avoided talking about. Especially because of that question. What happens after death?
You see, Serenity wasn’t that religious, but she still refused to believe that death was the ultimate end. Putting things simply, one could say she believed in what she could see, or imagine... and she could not imagine what it would be like to die, to be erased from existence, therefore one could say she feared death. “Well… I have no idea” she replied, the words came out in that dull monochordic tone she usually used to explain something even though her gut was twisting and turning “While religion and science seem to have their own theories about that matter, I cannot take any side. I haven’t died yet, so I can’t possibly now what happens.”

Takayuki smirked as the woman answered his question. Usually he did not as someone this sort of question upon meeting someone, he wanted a good impression. But he knew without a doubt that this person was his Blood Servant, it was quite evident, that fact that he felt the sudden need to drink blood, the fact that he felt light-headed, it was all to obvious. He alread yknew about the world of Kyuuketsuki and Blood Servants. He wondered whether this girl knew or not. If not, he'd have approach her in a cautious way as to not scare her off. Maybe he'd have to force himself to get to know her, even though he did not care at all about her likes and dislikes.
"Is that so?" He dismissed the subject, he'd talk about some more later. "Anyways, my name is Shinichi Asou. Nice to meet you!" he said with a smile.
"My blood type is O. What is your blood type? Girls in Japan love this kind of stuff, I don't blame them. It's somewhat interesting for people to base someone's personality and behaviors on blood." He said, not really knowing how to bring up his true name or his birthmark on his back. Hopefully, the mention of blood would make the girl, assuming hse knew of Kyuuketsuki and their partners, would make the girl say something.
"You seem to like food and drinks, don't you? You came into this shop hoping to get something to feed your hunger on, am I correct or maybe to relax?" He wanted to get the girl to talk, so that he could get to know her more and then casually mention his birthmark, which were wings on the lower back.
"I know the secret you have on your back..." Takayuki said bluntly, but with the same crooked smile as always.

you're the queen of the superficial What a strange person. Well, Serenity usually found nearly anyone strange, with some sort of odd behavior that had absolutely no reason for it. But still, this guy was really, really, weird. Well, for starters, he had asked one of the strangest questions ever, completely out of the blue, and without knowing her. And now, he seemed to have dismissed the subject. And that was exactly why the female usually strayed from most human contact. Well, if you are prone to get confused with everything people tell you like she is, you would probably do that too.
She nodded at his introduction, even though it had been far from nice meeting him. Still, the rules of politeness stated she should answer like that… “I’m Serenity Yume” she said cringing slightly at the sound of her name “It’s nice to meet you too… I guess” hey, just because she should say it was nice to meet him it didn’t mean she had to actually do it. Besides, she didn’t understand why she was supposed to say something she didn’t feel anyway.
And yet another random twist in this already strange conversation left the girl even more confused. What was it with this guy? Blood types? Better yet, what was it with people and blood? Really, even her grandmother told her stories about… what was that again? Ah, right, Kyuuketsuki and their… blood servants? Yes, that was it. Stupid obsession with vampirism and blood. Inwardly, the girl rolled her eyes, but for some reason decided to answer the question, even though it was stupid to base a personality on the blood type. “I think… I’m an AB, not that it actually matters” she sated with a confused look. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the rain, she would just get up and leave.
What was it now with the food and drink? ‘you seem to like food and drinks’ what the hell was that? For a moment she felt tempted to say ‘no, in fact I hate them, I just eat because I have to’, but she settled for something that didn’t sound so rude. “People need food” was all she said, remembered she still had her tea to drink. Bringing the cup to her lips again, she waited for him to say anything, but she sure wasn’t expecting to hear what he said next.
For a moment, she was sure her face was drained of all its color. Was he being random once again? But what were the odds of he guessing that? No one knew it. And it was just like the stories grandma told her. ‘But those were just stories’ she reassured herself ‘right?’. Placing the tea cup down, the girl took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a second. Violet eyes then locked onto the person across from her, a serious look on her face. “How do you know about that?”. She refused to believe the tales she had been told when she was little, but unless he was a stalker, how else could he knew about that.

"Ah, nice to meet you, Serenity. You don't mind me calling you by your name, do you?" Usually girls, in particular and some males would usually fall for Takayuki's fake antics, but this girl's tone of voice seemed to make him think otherwise. "You guess it's nice to meet me? I thought it was nice to meet a pretty girl like you. Don't worry, I'm not a stalker of any sort. I certainly don't bite, either." He said finnishing with a laugh.
Takayuki laughed as the girl replied to his blood type question, "Of course, blood types matter. Not only for medical reasons, not that I know about medicine. But also for the reason that if you are looking for a lover in the future," He felt like he was dragging on, he didn't like talking this much but he felt like that was what girls like confident men, but then again it all depended on person. There might be female out there who enjoyed men who didnt have the guts to stand up for her,"you can base what you are looking for on blood types and use that to find your perfect husband. If that isn't a good deal, I don't know what is."
"Not all food is necessarily needed. For example, a human can live only eating meat or only eating vegetables. But this doesn't mean that they don't need other means of energy. So, if someone is only eating red peppers, they can survive, but they will not be getting any other nutritions that their body needs for certain things. As you know, if they don't drink milk at all, they won't be getting calcium, it is said that calcium is needed for bone growth. It really depends on what humans need specifically to survive, not all foods are important." He seemed to trail on and on about food, proabaly not even retorting what they girl has said, previously. correctly. "Sorry, I seemed to have talked too much."
"Is it not obvious as to why I am may know about your back? Anyways, let me explain myself." Takayuki really enjoyed talking, he was really excited for finding his blood servant. It was about ime, now he could conduct his most final and most vital experiment, the one he had been waiting to do since the time he learned of Kyuuketsuki and Blood servants bonds. "I am a kyuuketsuki. Quite frankly, I have a blood servant somewhere in this tiny world, who I must feed the blood of. Me and that person will apparently share an unbreakable bond together. How should I put this? Well, I assume you are my blood servant. So, this explains how I know about your back... because I, too, have the same marking."

you're the queen of the superficial Serenity shrugged at the question of calling her by her first name. It didn’t really matter. Still, she remained silent for the rest of his rant. Honestly, how could someone speak about so many different subjects? It confused her. The girl let out a sigh as he went on about why blood was important, but she couldn’t help but smirk. “If you say so…” she commented without much interest. One thing was for sure, she wasn’t going to ask someone their blood type if she intended to go out on a date with them. Anyway, for her, it was a very stupid thing to be concerned about.
She arched an eyebrow at his need for food theory. Really, was this supposed to get somewhere? Oh, he seemed to realize he was talking too much. Good, that saved her the effort of pointing it out “Yes, you have” she stated with a bored tone “Still, you said the same I had. You always need to eat something… even if it’s only meat, or fruit for example” Really, why was she playing along with this? She should have just remained silent and then he would go away.
Eyeing the falling rain outside as she took a sip of her tea, the girl wondered if it was ever going to stop. That way she could just leave. Not to mention that now he had made that comment about her birthmark all she wanted to do was get up and leave. But she figured she might as well listen to him.
Violet eyes were open wide as she heard his explanation. He was… a Kyuuketsuki? And apparently, she was her blood servant. And that was why she started laughing. Really, for someone who didn’t like unpredictable people, she sure was one of them. Seeing as the sparse people were starting to look at them in an odd way, the girl figured she should control herself a bit. “You’re crazy, did you know that?” she asked with a more serious tone “You can’t possibly expect me to believe that, those are just stories” she added getting up. Who cares about the rain, she wasn’t going to stand this anymore. “Nevermind, I’m leaving” she added as she placed some money on the table.
As she got out of that place she was greeted once again with the pouring rain. “Bah” who the hell was that guy? There was no way what he said could be true was it? I mean, those were just stories, there were no such things as Kyuuketsuki and Blood Servants. But then again, how else could he know about her birth mark? “Stupid idiot” she muttered as she started walking. Honestly, she should have stayed home.

Takayuki dismissed all of what the girl said, letting there be an awkward silence. It may have been awkward to some people, but Takayuki loved the silence. "How does talking about kyuuketsuki make me crazy? Sometimes crazy people, too, speak the truth. From truth and lie you can never guess what it what, so it is best to take chances and believe what you think is right."
Takayuki sighed, the girl was making things difficult for him. It was very stressful, but he kept his troubles within himself, not letting it escape. He let the girl get up and leave, he wasn't go to suddenly get up as well and grab her arm. She was far from the way he imagined his partner to be. This girl did not seem obediant at all.
He watched as the girl left the shop. He got up from his seat, there were a few people in the hsop but they looked at the table wondereing what had happened. Takayuki didn't want to bother paying, he did not have any money to begin with. So he just walked off towards the door. Winking at the waitress, as if to see her reaction, he said to her, "My girlfriend paid for me."
He could see the girl standing in the rain. He was outside of the shop, "What must I do to make you believe my words?" The young man had to admit he was slightly annoyed, this wasn't as easy as he thought it would be, but why should it have been? He should ahev been prepared.
"I see, you want me to leave you alone and not discuss kyuuketsuki. But do you mind if I accompany you? I won't mention kyuuketsuki, I promise." Takayuki had another plan in mind.

you're the queen of the superficial Probably a side effect of being out in the rain for long, her thinking had become clearer. And by clearer I mean she was actually starting to think his story made some sense. And that didn’t please her at all. The simple fact that once she had started to think more rationally, she had started to believe a story, left her incredibly frustrated. And just to make things even better, that crazy guy had decided to follow. For a moment, she had actually believed he would not move from his spot, but it seemed she wasn’t going to be so lucky. Not to mention that that left her wondering whether he was really crazy and actually believed this for sure or, this was actually real and she was… was… was… supposed to let him feed off of her blood? OH HELL NO!
Grunting loudly as she heard his voice, the girl pulled her hood up in a feeble attempt to shield her face from the rain. However, she gave no reply to his question. Actually, she wanted to tell him it wasn’t rational at all to believe in such a thing, but seeing as she was having her own doubts already, she figured silence would be the best answer. Maybe he’d go away.
Nope, not anytime soon. Would she mind if he accompanied her? Of course she would. Normal people confused her, crazy people drove her mad. “I… guess it’s ok” What? Violet eyes widened in surprise at her own words. This was not what she wanted to say, in fact, it was the opposite of what she wanted to say. Instinctively, she raised her hand to her forehead… nope, her temperature was pretty normal. “Just keep yourself at a decent distance” she added, glaring at him.

Takayuki was glad to hear Serenity's response, he noticed her glare at him. He felt like teasing her about her annoyance towards him, but thought it best not to seeing as she would be even more mad at him. He liked the rain, he felt like the waters from the heaven's were feeding his skin as though he were a plant. He was waiting for her to make a move. But he began to walk, hopefully she'd follow him. He really liked the star flower, he could see them in the distance, he smiled at them. The mere sight of them gave him some cheerfullness "I really like plants, what is your favorite flower?" Hoping to engage in a conversation about plants maybe even biology.
Takayuki heard some footsteps behind him, that didn't belong to Serenity. The weight of the way they put one foot before the other, sounded like that of someone much larger than a female and he could sense another kyuuketsuki within the vicinity. The other kyuuketsuki was followed by a young-looking female, she must've been half-Japanese because despite having Asian features, the color of her hair and her eyes were rather light.
"Sere, I suggest you stand behind me, in case anything happens," Takayuki smirked, if she had her doubts of the truth behind kyuuketsuki, then maybe a little fight would verfiy things.
"Hey you!" The girl shouted demandingly from behind her body guard-like kyuuketsuki, pointing at Takayuki. "You are Takayuki Mei, right? You are him, aren't you? I thought you were dead, you lied to me, I met my real kyuuketsuki a couple days ago, we were intorduced by Stardust 9. You're in lots of trouble with them, they asked us to take you back there."
"I'm sorry, I don't know what you are talking about, I'm Shinichi Asou," Takayuki said, plainly, looking extremely calm and unnerved by the pair who were accusing him of being a liar.
The other kyuuketsuki was tall, he was large for a Japanese male, he towered over Takayuki by a couple inches and despite his size, he was still very lanky but his black suit gave him a serious and daunting impression. He stepped forwards towards Takayuki and said, "If you aren't going to come with us peacefully then we might have to fight you..." His voice was filled with annoyance.
The other girl shouted, "Who is this girl? Is she really your Blood Servant or is it just another lie?"
"If we're going to fight, I'll fight alone... against the both of you," Takayuki replied, ignoring the light colour haired girl. Takayuki raised one arm into the air, his fingers swaying from one side to the other, "Chains bind these two by their necks." The roses in the garden rose up from the earth and stretched to an abnormal length, their thorns grew sharper and the plants began to move hastily towards the tall man and his partner, wrapping around the necks numerous times without any mercy. The man and the young woman were both shocked and the two of them began to attempt at getting out of the chains which Takayuki had formed.
Takayuki turned around and grabbed Serenity by the wrist, tugging on her slightly to show her that he wanted to go quickly. That should probably prove to her that kyuuketsuki were no joke. He hoped that she was too shocked to make a rational decision and would go with him anyways. "These two are dangerous, we have to go before they really harm us..." his voice filled with false fear.
