~ Where Thou's Nightmares Become Thy Goals ~
Salutations, Stranger. You've now entered the large city of London in the Victorian Era many years before our current time ; an era of Queen Victoria's rule and one of fair peace.. Or at least this is what our history books have relayed into the public.
Now, as you stand within the past to experience this era for yourself, you will soon realize that this is not what the London Historians have spoken to you in the present time. Let us begin with our story...
It's currently 1893 and Queen Victoria's rule is still quite strong. It's now been five years to date that Ciel returned to the world of the living along with Sebastian Michealis, the child's loyal butler. It was a miracle in everyone's eyes, because to them the young Phantomhive had been lost within the horrendous fire that seemed to engulf the city of London a day ago. But of course the citizens saw light even within their torn city blanketed in ash, for this was the way of humans ; a factor that has never altered.
But away from the public's vision, the truth was only known by select few. It was unknown how Ciel Phantomhive managed to be spared by Sebastian and what factor halted the ritual for the starving demon, and to add onto previous matters not a soul [barring Ciel and Sebastian] knew if the pair's contract was still intact. But Sebastian did not seem to snatch away any souls, perhaps as to not agitate the Realm of Shinigami, so the subject was left undisturbed by the supernatural industry.
So now, five years have flew by with little excitement. Queen Victoria's rule was strong, as to be expected, and there have been very little supernatural disturbances within London's boundaries. The Phantomhive household has been rebuilt to perfectly replicate both models before it, and Ciel's kept his iron grasp upon his title within the underworld of society, with the Funtom company making it's mark on the map with it's top quality play things and bakery items. Finnian, Bard, and Maylene have all made healthy recoveries after the hellish quarrel with their former comrade Pluto. Things seemed to be relatively normal, even within the depths of the forsaken underworld.. But of course, peace has never been a consistent attribute to any structure.
For it was that still Winter night that they began to arise.
To mortals, the Queen included, this fate silently..stealthily engulfing the European continent in darkness remained unknown. Weird happenings such as solemn fires within the woodlands and some more suburban areas revived the trauma of five years passed but humans managed to efficiently pass this blame off on careless smokers and perhaps a pyro that was testing his sickening power over mortality. Small, sometimes secluded earthquakes swiftly followed this fires and these natural disasters began plaguing London for the total period of four months.. Then it stopped, an odd happening but nonetheless the citizens were thankful to the gods for saving them from another potentially devastating trial. However, this sign was hardly a blessing.
While few casualties had currently been made in the human population, the supernatural realm of the world was beginning to suffer some considerable effects from this new threat. While London was experiencing land based trauma, this was only the shockwave of the harsh feud going on between an organization and the secret life safely perched within the blind spot of the Mortals' narrow line of sight. Shinigami, Rogue Demons, Angels, Lycan, and Vampires had all been enduring accounts of murder made against their species from an unknown source. At first, it was thought to be a powerful demon wishing to test his own power against other creatures but one thing seemed to bar said theory ; there were patterns. The cause for Shingami deaths seemed to be caused by a demon's hand, while casualties sustained within the demon population seemed to be the result of a fatal attack by an angel or shinigami, the Angels' numbers were results of Vampires and Lycan, and in turn the Lycan and Vampires were victims of all of these forces.
A disturbing situation, especially considering the fact that these forces did not cross lines without serious offense.. And even then, the lines of war were rarely triggered to the extent of assassination. But anxiety and paranoia brought upon by a primal sense of fear can prove effective to even the strongest of individuals ; this nearly lead all of the forces to turn their arsenals against one another. Until the appearance of a rather small group of five appeared. Some consider this a fortunate turn, while others believed it was simply the first, fierce pull into a nightmare in which some would not awaken from. In a vulgar mingle, both accusations were somewhat true. A war between the supernatural beings would've been truly catastrophic but this new group certainly had the potential to be even more harmful then the latter.
This organization appeared before each group, one assigned to their own species ; these five introducing themselves of the leaders of an organization dubbed 'Zero'. These five consisted of a demon, shinigami, lycan, vampire, and angel, each of them introducing themselves before their kind in vain hopes to ease a solid tension. Each admitted to the crimes they had committed but stated it was for "a greater cause" and to rid them all of weakness that would do nothing more then cause unnecessary trouble when the time came. Not many accepted this excuse however, and attempted to ward off these intruders but before anything could be done each leader disappeared with final words : "If you refuse to join us or surrender to our superiority then we shall reduce all you have to zero."
Practically true to word, the murders increased in number and in malice. The victims were brutally torn apart as if to send warning signs for what was to come.. This continued without mercy and as the natural disasters for the humans halted these beings reappeared once more. They spoke with the same calm persuasion in their voices as before, "Now that you have tasted our powers once more, please consider relinquishing those deaf ears into oblivion. We wish for you all to join us, for we can create one large empire, free of useless humans. The Queen's power is artificial and with our forces combined we could harness the raw intensity of each realm. We can create a peaceful world that we all could never accomplish alone.. Let us ameliorate everything this world has to offer!" they preached, though this time the crowd stayed silent to head these new found heathens that could be converted into allies in one.. swift form of alliance that seemed to be for a good cause.
Without acceptance from superiors, some creatures from each group joined the organization of Zero. But the clans did not collapse under Zero display of power, resulting in their ultimate and final refusal. This time, the members of Zero stayed silent before releasing only a few more words to the enemy. "Then we respect that decision. We will accept you later if you decide to join us, but for now we will retreat. And if you truly do not waver then know that our numbers are much greater then just the five of us that you have seen.. We will take your realm, whether you sacrifice yourselves peacefully or with malice.."
Zero then disappeared. Murders continued. Even the humans are beginning to feel the effects of Zero's power.. There won't be anywhere to hide before long, some predict..
So what will you become? A Zero or perhaps you will fight against their reign..? But the better question is will you survive?
Now, as you stand within the past to experience this era for yourself, you will soon realize that this is not what the London Historians have spoken to you in the present time. Let us begin with our story...
