"Caes Nortum"
In Durian, the official language of the Land of Duer, it means "The Throne of Power."
And that is where the problems begin.
Centuries ago, the six great houses had a war. After the victory of Soah House, it was they who inherited the Caes Nortum and ruled over Duer. Their laws were firm, but not unjust, and for some time Duer had a time of peace. Now, almost two hundred years later, the last member of the House of Soah, Princess Andula, has died without leaving an heir, and the land of Duer must once again face the times of war.
The remaining five great houses - House of Josha, House of Nost, House of Rean, House of Angelin and the House of Lumin, have started another war, each fighting for the Caes Nortum. Reluctantly, the people of Duer are being forced to choose their sides. Amidst the background of uneasy alliances, treachery and the impending winter, the people prepare for war. And while brother fights against brother and Durian against Durian, peace in Duer just seems like a faraway dream that most do not even dare to dream of.
But that is not all.
At the far east lies the land of Araknag, which is seperated from Duer by a chain of mountains lying in the territory of the House of Nost. The House of Nost, as a desperate gambit, has decided to ask the Lord of Araknag for help in the Durian war, and the Lord has decided to grant them his support and his army. But little do House Nost know that the Lord of Araknag sees an entirely different person on the Caes Nortum.
There are games of power, and the ultimate prize is the Caes Nortum.
And there are only two choices - play or die.
